Schuyler Broadway: Behind Closed Doors
My name is Schuyler Broadway, I use he/him and they/them pronouns, and I’m a senior in Fashion Design and also enrolled in the Accelerated Bachelor’s-Master’s program pursuing a Master of Textiles. My collection, Behind Closed Doors, is centered around the culture and significance of fetishwear for queer and transgender communities. It evokes the feeling of euphoria of the wearers when they can express their true inner self in a space free from judgement and oppression. Behind Closed Doors takes color inspiration from neon lights commonly found in nightlife scenes, and uses motifs of chains to show the freedom that comes from breaking away from societal standards.
