Miah Bryant: Past the Sky

My collection is inspired by the New York Abstract Expressionist Movement. American artists
in this era utilized different styles and techniques expressing artist freedom to convey attitudes
and emotions through nontraditional and nonrepresentational means. Based on this movement, I
feature the African American experience and culture through different textile techniques and
designs that showcase the adversity of the African American lineage of how far we have come to
how far we can go.
