Emma Harris: Reclaimed
Combining my love for second-hand clothing and fashion history, Reclaimed is not only inspired by the past, but is made from the past. Staying true to my goal of creating a positive impact on the fashion industry, my entire collection consists of all upcycled fabrics and materials. Using materials from the past, of their own time and history, I look to embolden vintage silhouettes and remove them of their previous constraints. With particular inspiration from 1930’s dress and art scene, Reclaimed reimagines the styles of the time without boundaries. Balancing between elements of romanticism and power, the collection shows both fluidity and structure. The collection reclaims vintage styles that once did not allow for gender fluidity in dress, sensuality without shame, and equal access for all skin colors.
