Emily Scott Peterson: Downfall

The inspiration for ‘Downfall’ stems from the Greek mythological story of Icarus and his father, Daedalus. From joy and pride to death and despair, we follow these two in their desperate attempt to escape their prison. Ultimately, Icarus learns in his final moments the true impact of his hubris as he neglects his father’s warnings and falls to a watery grave. In ‘Downfall’ I explore this storyline and theme through the progression of each look. It is expressed by incorporating gold detailing, a neutral color palette, and suggested wings in each look’s silhouette. Thank you for your support as I debut ‘Downfall’.
