Anna Lia Ritchie:  Vivid Pantheon

Instead of taking inspiration from the all-white Greek statues we know today, I wanted to reimagine these depictions of Greek mythology in the modern world, acknowledging their colorful history.
Most ancient Greek statues were once painted but had their color stripped away by both nature and people who preferred the unpainted look. I want to restore the idea of Greek myth in color, and by doing so, I hope to enhance the fantastical elements of these mythical Greek characters. My collection will spark viewers’ imaginations while portraying the story of each god or goddess through their clothing.
