Madeline Kamal: Sissone
My collection is inspired by the strength and fragility of classical ballet, as this has always been one of my favorite art forms. I am especially drawn to the contrast of the effortless, flowing nature of the dancers’ choreography and body movements compared with the strength of their physicality and their challenging performances. My color palette is inspired by traditional colors found in ballet costumes. The fabrics in my collection are elegant and feminine which, combined with strong seaming and design details, explore the strength and fragility of my inspiration.
